2Baba breaks silence on marriage crisis with Natasha

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has appealed to fans and the public to temper their reactions as speculation intensifies over tensions involving him and his wife, Natasha Idibia.
A video circulating online shows the “African Queen” star urging supporters to stop escalating the drama, warning that the growing frenzy is becoming risky and unfair to his wife.
He said: “This is getting out of hand. This is a dangerous situation right now. I know what fans can do, I know what people can do.
“I am perfectly okay, and this is putting Natasha at risk. It is not fair on anybody.
“Please, I need everybody to calm down, cease fire. We are going to resolve all these issues. People dey get issue for house no be today, but this is getting out of hand.
“Friends, family, everybody, please, ceasefire. I beg you. I am perfectly fine. I did not make that post. Please, I am okay.”
The singer distanced himself from a now-deleted Instagram post in which he appeared to solicit help, insisting his account had been compromised and that he was not responsible for the message.
The uproar began following reports alleging that 2Baba was briefly detained by UK police after an altercation with Natasha during his October tour. A video showing the singer being arrested spread rapidly online, triggering widespread reaction.
Tensions heightened further during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze, where two of 2Baba’s former managers accused Natasha of attempting to assert total control over his personal and professional life. They claimed she had taken charge of his finances and public engagements and confirmed an arrest incident previously denied.
2Baba later joined the broadcast, visibly upset, and demanded an end to discussions about his private affairs. Moments afterward, a heated exchange between him and Natasha was heard off-camera, causing the livestream to end abruptly and fuelling even more speculation.
As online commentary continues to mount, the Edo House of Assembly has reportedly summoned Natasha, who represents the Egor constituency, to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee over the viral allegations of misconduct.
