Soldiers arrest 22 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers, seize trucks with sacks of smoked fish

Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF), North-East Operation Hadin Kai, have taken into custody a suspected supplier of logistics to terrorists along with 21 others allegedly involved in moving large quantities of smoked fish believed to support insurgent activities in Borno State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that, according to sources, the arrests were made around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday by soldiers from the 112 Task Force Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade stationed at Checkpoint 2 in Mafa Local Government Area.
The primary suspect, 40-year-old Ibrahim Buka, was stopped with the group while transporting 59 cartons and 28 sacks of smoked fish in two Isuzu trucks.
“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the smoked fish was handed over to them in Laje village by terrorists,” the report said.
Sources further disclosed that the main suspect admitted to repeatedly supplying various items to terrorists, and hybrid forces at the scene confirmed he had previously served as their supplier during their time in the bush.
All individuals arrested, along with the confiscated goods, have been transferred into custody for continued investigation.
