Nigerian gov declares Friday work-free day

One of the governors in the northern part of the country, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has declared Friday, November 28, work-free day to honour the revered Islamic scholar, Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, who died on Thursday.
The declaration was issued in a statement released in Bauchi by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to Gidado, the work-free day is intended to allow government and private-sector employees, students, and other residents to attend the funeral prayer and pay their final respects to the late scholar.
He confirmed that the prayer is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
