(BREAKING) Insecurity: FG announces immediate closure of 41 unity schools ( See List)

The Federal Government has announced the immediate closure of 41 Federal Government Colleges (unity schools) located in the northern part of the country.

A circular signed by Director, Senior Secondary Education,  Binta Abdulkadir, on behalf of Minister of Education, Maruf Alausa, on Friday, said the move was necessitated by the current insecurity in the country.

The circular addressed to principals of the affected schools read:

“CLOSURE OF FORTY-ONE (41) FEDERAL UNITY COLLEGES

“Sequel to the recent security challenges in some parts of the country
and the need to prevent any security breaches, the Honourable Minister of Education has approved the immediate closure of the listed Federal Unity Colleges (FUCS) with immediate effect.

“Principals of affected Colleges are to ensure strict compliance..”
