Drama at PDP HQ as Turaki, Makinde, Mohammed dispersed with tear gas before Wike’s entry

A dramatic scene unfolded on Tuesday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja, where police operatives fired tear gas to disperse a crowd of supporters amid rising tensions between rival factions.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, and the factional National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, were among those caught in the chaos.
The group was reportedly denied entry into Wadata House by the Senator Samuel Anyanwu-led faction, which had taken control of the main gate.
The situation grew increasingly heated, prompting police officers to deploy tear gas to restore order.
In a twist that further underscored the party’s deepening internal crisis, the gate was immediately opened when the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, arrived at the secretariat.
