Super Eagles to get 50 000 bonus per goal in World Cup playoff showdown with DR Congo

The Super Eagles have been promised a hefty reward of $50,000 for every goal they score in tonight’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nigeria’s three-time African champions had previously pocketed $120,000 after their 4-1 win over Gabon’s Panthers last Thursday, a payout calculated at $30,000 per goal in that encounter.

The incentive package, backed by the National Sports Commission (NSC) in partnership with several unnamed corporate supporters, is aimed at lifting the squad’s morale as they push toward securing a place at the 2026 World Cup.

The winner of tonight’s meeting between the Super Eagles and the Leopards will advance to the Intercontinental playoffs scheduled for Mexico in March 2026.
