3 governors absent As PDP pushes ahead with convention amid crisis

Governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers were noticeably missing on Saturday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention taking place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Despite ongoing internal turmoil and two separate court rulings against the exercise, the party pushed ahead with the gathering. The faction led by Umar Damagum proceeded with the convention, banking on a judgement it obtained from an Oyo State High Court.
It was observed the arrival of several governors, including Ahmadu Fintri of Adamawa, Caleb Muftwang of Plateau, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, along with the host governor, Seyi Makinde of Oyo.
Other prominent figures at the venue included former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, as well as former governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, Babangida Aliyu of Niger, and Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano.
