Prominent Tinubu’s apointee resigns

One of the prominent appointees of the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government, Bola Oyebamiji, has tendered his resignation as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
Oyebamiji confirmed his exit in a message on Friday night, explaining that the decision was in line with electoral regulations as he prepares to vie for the Osun State governorship in 2026.
He said, “Yes, I have resigned in accordance with the electoral law to pursue my Osun 2026 governorship ambition.”
A close associate of the former NIWA chief also corroborated the development, linking the move directly to his political plans.
“Yes, he has resigned. He is contesting, and he wants to face the election properly,” the source stated.
Before assuming leadership at NIWA, Oyebamiji twice served as Osun State Commissioner for Finance and later worked as Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
He is widely regarded for his background in banking, economics, public administration and politics.
