Kwara Gunmen kidnap former PDP chairman
Gunmen Attack

A former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Boriya–Shiya Ward, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State,  Abubakar Sabi Sise, has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

Sise, who is also a trader, was taken from his home in Boriya in the early hours of Thursday.

Details shared by Barutem TV indicated that the attackers arrived around midnight, firing multiple shots into the air as they forced their way into the compound.

Sources who spoke with Barutem TV said one of Sise’s sons unknowingly walked into the attack as he returned home late at night.

The gunmen allegedly ordered him to contact his father and open the door. Once inside, they seized only Alhaji Sise and left the rest of the family unharmed.

By daybreak, spent bullet shells and a number of live rounds were discovered around the house, confirming the intensity of gunfire during the incident.

Residents described the attack as brief but terrifying, noting that the gunmen departed within minutes. Local vigilante members in Boriya were immediately alerted and have since launched a search of nearby areas in an attempt to rescue the victim and track down the assailants.

This latest incident marks the second kidnapping within the area in less than two months. On September 17, another businessman was similarly taken from his home in Shiya, a nearby community just a few kilometres from Boriya.

As at the time of filing this report, there was still no information on the whereabouts of  Sise.
