U.S. lawmaker issues fresh warning, says Trump means business on Nigeria Christian killings

An American lawmaker, Riley Moore, who is spearheading a U.S. investigation into the alleged genocide of Christians in Nigeria, has cautioned the Nigerian government against underestimating President Donald Trump’s determination on the matter.
Speaking during an interview with Fox News on Saturday, Moore urged Abuja to cooperate with Washington in efforts to end what he described as the ongoing “slaughter of Christians” across the country.
“Do not test President Trump’s resolve, he is serious about ending the ongoing slaughter of Christians in Nigeria,” Moore stated.
He further appealed to Nigerian authorities to work hand-in-hand with the United States to ensure the protection of Christians and halt the violence.
“I am asking the Nigerian government to do the right thing and partner with the United States to protect Christians and end the slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Christ,” he said.
The warning follows President Trump’s earlier designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” over alleged religious persecution.
Republican lawmakers have also hinted at the possibility of military intervention, accusing the Nigerian government of failing to safeguard religious minorities amid persistent attacks on Christian communities.
However, Nigerian officials have consistently denied any claims of religious persecution, maintaining that the government protects all citizens regardless of faith.
