Re Imiakebu community rejects move to collapse Three Ibie Clan structure

The Ogieaga Palace is compelled to address a malicious publication attributed to one Ahmadu, who claimed to be Chief of Staff (CSO) to the Azamanodu of Imiakebu, which seeks to destabilize the harmony and unity of the Three Ibie Clan.

We categorically state that the purported communique which prompted Ahmadu’s malicious publication did not emanate from Ogieaga palace, and its contents are entirely baseless.

It is perturbing that Ahmadu would rush to the media without verifying the authenticity of the document, thereby spreading falsehoods and misinformation. The allegations of collapsing the Three Ibie Structure and appointing Chief Imam and Youth leaders for Imiakebu community are unfounded and without merit. These claims are designed to create internal crisis and undermine the stability of our beloved clan.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Three Ibie Clan is a legally recognized entity, headed by the Ogieaga, who serves as the administrative and traditional head of the clan. The gazette is clear on the status of each village, and any attempt to undermine this structure is a recipe for chaos.

The concept for a name change from Three Ibie to Ivie is not about collapsing structures but about embracing growth and development. Other clans in Etsako have evolved and expanded, and it is prudent that we review our administrative structures to accommodate the growing needs of our people.

Those who have chosen to be frozen in the past for their selfish reasons should not undermine the resolve of the Ivie people; Imiegba, Imiakebu, and Itsukwi to catch up with the new era of global development. We must not allow selfish interests to hinder our progress and development.

We urge all village heads to attend the regular Ogieaga Palace meetings to represent their subjects and contribute meaningfully to the decision-making process. We can not afford to have our leaders hiding in their comfort zones while their subjects are misled.

The Village Head of Imiakebu is specifically advised to desist from claiming autonomous status and to attend Clan Head meetings often held in Ogieaga’s Palace. The notion that Imiakebu is a Clan and should have a structure equal to that of the Ogieaga is unfounded and should be discarded. There is no name as “Imiakebu Autonomous Village” but IMIAKEBU VILLAGE. As a Village Head, you are not the Royal Father of Three Ibie. There are  classes of chiefs in Etsako East.

We call on the Etsako East Local Government Council, Ministry of Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, the Acting Chairman Etsako East, and the Governor of Edo State to take note of these observations and call the Village Head of Imiakebu to order, so as not to raise false alarms that will bring crisis to the peaceful people of the Three Ibie Clan.

To our sons and daughters, we urge you to remain vigilant and reject any attempt to hinder, disturb our unity and retard our progress. Let us work together to build a stronger Three Ibie Clan that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of all Ivie people and contemporary expectations of our society.

The Ogieaga Palace will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the unity and stability of our clan. We will continue to uphold the traditions and values of our forebears and ensure that our clan remains a beacon of peace and progress in Etsako East.

We commend the unwavering efforts of the Acting Chairman Etsako East and the Governor of Edo State in tackling insecurity in Edo North and across the state. Their dedication to restoring peace, safety, and stability is truly inspiring. Through collaborative efforts, they’re addressing the root causes of insecurity, enhancing security measures, and promoting community engagement. Their leadership and vision for a secure Edo State are yielding positive results, and we appreciate their tireless work in making Edo State a better place for all. We pray for their continued success and guidance as they work towards a safer, more prosperous Edo State.

Long live the Three Ibie Clan!
Long live Etsako East!!
Long live Edo State!!!
