Hisbah enforces Shari ah ruling destroys cartons of alcohol

The Yobe State Hisbah Commission has destroyed several cartons of alcohol that were confiscated during an enforcement operation, in line with its mandate to uphold Shari’ah law in the state.

According to a statement released by the Commission’s spokesperson, Sibawaihi Ukasha Gashua, the destruction was carried out after the Lower Shari’ah Court granted an order authorizing the disposal of the seized items, which were intercepted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

“The items were confiscated from a J5 vehicle that departed from Jos, Plateau State. Both the suspects and the exhibits were taken to court, where judgment was delivered according to Shari’ah law,” he added.

The Hisbah Commission reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations aimed at curbing immoral acts and fostering a disciplined and morally upright society across the state.
