Alleged Christians’ massacre: Patriotic elders caution US not to take military action against Nigeria

The National Patriotic Elders for Peace and Harmony in Nigeria (NPEPHN),has cautioned the United States against taking military action against Nigeria, saying such exercise will be unjustifiable.
NPEPHN gave the advice shortly after its meeting held in Kano on Sunday.
According to the group, any military action by the United States against Nigeria cannot be justified because the reason being advanced by the Super Power-massacre of Christians, is unverifiable.
NPEPHN which spoke through its National President,Dr. Bature AbdulAziz, said the claim by the American Government that Christians are being killed in Nigeria is false, as terror attacks in the country are also suffered by Muslims.
“The claim by the US government that Christians are being massacred in Nigeria is false,as fact checks revealed that 75 percent of those killed in the country from 1999 to date are Muslims with their towns and places of worship burned down by terrorists.
“And when you look at the geographical locations of the country, the Northwestern states of Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa are predominantly Muslim areas and they are the most affected by the mayhem being perpetrated by the terrorists.
“The Northeastern states of Gombe, Bauchi, Borno, and Yobe are also predominantly Muslim areas which also suffer from the killings and destruction of property by the criminals,” Abdul Aziz said.
The President also explained that the North Central states of Taraba, Plateau, Adamawa and Benue, among others, have large Christian populations, but that the killings in such areas border on farmer/harder clashes with both warring parties suffering loses.
“It is,therefore, surprising that the US Government would believe this false narrative without verifying from the right intelligent sources.
“We believe that America has a hidden agenda behind the false Christian Massacre narrative, may be because the Government of President Tinubu has aligned itself with the Palestine/Israel two- State solution at the United Nations General Assembly or because President Tinubu is tilting towards France and other countries,” he said.
Dr.AbdulAziz reminded President Donald Trump that Nigeria had been playing central roles in peace keeping not only in Africa but across the globe, as well as promoting and preserving Democracy in most African countries.
“Any attack on Nigeria by the US government would, therefore, result in the destruction of several African Nations because most of them rely heavily on Nigeria for so many things,” he said.
He commended President Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, and the National Security Adviser(NSA) for their efforts in addressing the lingering insecurity in the country.
