NFSS holds leadership training for top officers, tasks them on optimal performance

The Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, has organised another round of Leadership Training for Assistants Commander General, ACGs, and State Commanders of the Service in the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the Service, the essence of the training was to further equip them on intelligence gathering at effective protection of Nigeria’s forested region.
Delivering a lead paper during the training at the NFSS Headquarters in Abuja, the Commander General of NFSS, Dr Joshua Osatimehin, reiterated the Service commitment to regular training and retraining of its officers and men towards complimenting the efforts of formal security agencies in combative insecurity in the country.
Osatimehin stated that for the nation to overcome its security challenges adequate attention must be giving to sanitizing Nigeria’s ungoverned spaces which is mainly the forests spread across the country.
He therefore advised participants at the training against act detrimental to the objectives of NFSS.
The Commander General used the opportunity to congratulate the new Service Chiefs describing their appointment by President Bola Tinubu as critical to overcoming the country’s security problems.
He equally appealed once again to President Bola Tinubu to sign the NFSS Bill into law towards actualizing his renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of security of lives and property in the country.
Some of the ACGs and State Commanders of NFSS who participated in the leadership training said the programme would further boost their performance in their various Commands and States.
They therefore called for the support of State Governments and Stakeholders towards enhancing the performance of officers and men of NFSS at the Grassroots.
Highpoints of the leadership training were the decoration of newly graduated Officers of NFSS in Diploma Programme in Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State and enlightenment programme on finance management.
