The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has escalated as its National Working Committee (NWC) on Saturday announced the suspension of several top officials of the party.
Those affected include the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, among others.
National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Debo Ologunnagba, who made this known at a media briefing, said the affected party officials were each handed a 30-day suspension.
He said : “DECISION OF THE NWC AT ITS 608th MEETING HELD ON Saturday, November 1, 2025

According to the party, the decision was taken over allegations of anti-party activities and for conduct said to have brought the PDP into disrepute.
The latest action comes amid internal wrangling triggered by Friday’s Federal High Court ruling, which halted the party’s planned National Convention scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The development marks yet another setback for the opposition party, which has been grappling with leadership disputes and internal divisions in recent months.
