Badaru, Lalong, other top dignitaries to grace 18th ABU Zaria alumni AGA

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Alumni Association (Worldwide) has fixed Friday, November 28, and Saturday, November 29, 2025, for its 18th Annual General Assembly (AGA).

In a statement signed by its President, Adamu Mamman Kontagora (Barden Kontagora), the association said the gathering will feature a pre-assembly lecture to be chaired by the Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

The statement read: “The Ahmadu Bello University Zaria Alumni Association (Worldwide) is delighted to invite all members to the 2025 Annual General Assembly (AGA), scheduled for Friday, November 28, and Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the main campus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

“This year’s AGA will be a celebration of legacy, innovation, and enduring connections, bringing together distinguished alumni from around the world for a memorable homecoming. Participants can look forward to stimulating discussions, strategic networking, and renewed commitment to advancing our alma mater.”

According to the statement, highlights of the event include a thought-provoking pre-AGA lecture under the chairmanship of H.E. Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, CON, Honourable Minister of Defence, and the flagship Annual Lecture to be delivered by H.E. Senator Simon Bako Lalong, CON, serving senator and former Governor of Plateau State.

“Come home to Zaria and let’s reignite the spirit of excellence that defines us,” Kontagora urged. “Together, we will honor our past, celebrate our present, and boldly shape the future of ABU Zaria.”
