Tinubu hosts Denmark’s richest man Povlsen at Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday welcomed Denmark’s richest man, Anders Holch Povlsen, to the State House in Abuja.
Povlsen, who is the Chief Executive Officer of global fashion group Bestseller and Chairman of the Bestseller Foundation, visited the President as part of ongoing investment and partnership engagements in Nigeria.
The visit was made public by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The Danish billionaire, who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Denmark to Nigeria, Mr. Jens Bach Hansen, and other officials, held a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu alongside key members of the administration.
Those in attendance included the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
The Bestseller Foundation, a private philanthropic organisation funded by the Danish fashion company Bestseller A/S, focuses on driving social and environmental impact, particularly in West Africa. Its work supports entrepreneurship and sustainable ventures that deliver both social and financial returns in communities linked to Bestseller’s global value chain.
Before the meeting with the Nigerian President, the delegation was received by the Chief of Staff and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.
Povlsen’s engagement with President Tinubu was part of the administration’s broader effort to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) and strengthen Nigeria’s bilateral economic relations with Denmark.
