BREAKING: Lamido threatens legal action after being denied PDP chairmanship form

Former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has vowed to take legal action after he was unable to obtain the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Lamido, who arrived at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday morning, expressed displeasure over his failure to secure the form.
Speaking to journalists in the presence of his supporters, the former governor reaffirmed his readiness to participate in the party’s elective National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He warned that he would head to court if the situation was not resolved in his favour.
Lamido had earlier announced his ambition in a post on his verified Facebook page, writing:“By the grace of God, I shall today, Monday, 27th October 2025, by 11 a.m., be at Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to purchase the nomination form to run for the office of National Chairman.”
It was earlier reported that PDP governors endorsed former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, as their preferred candidate for the chairmanship position.
Before Turaki’s endorsement, Lamido, along with former governors of Kano and Kaduna States, Ibrahim Shekarau and Ahmed Makarfi, had also expressed interest in the race.
