BREAKING: Tension as Nnamdi Kanu’s special counsel breaks down in Kuje prison

Nnamdi Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, has reportedly taken ill at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, barely a day after a magistrate allegedly refused to sign his bail documents.
According to reports by Sahara Reporters, Ejimakor, who is representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was unable to meet his legal team during their routine prison visit on Friday. His colleague, Barrister Maxwell Opara, confirmed he could not see him as usual.
Sources at the correctional facility said Ejimakor became weak and was unable to sit or stand upright before being attended to by nurses at the prison clinic. He was later said to have been moved to a hospital for further treatment.
Ejimakor was among 13 persons, including Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who were arrested on Monday by the police during a #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.
The group was reportedly teargassed and beaten before being taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abuja and held overnight at the SARS detention facility known as “Abattoir.”
They were arraigned the following day before a Kuje magistrate, identified as Abubakar Umar Sai’id, who allegedly granted them bail but failed to sign the bail bond before disappearing from the court.
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, who was also arraigned alongside Ejimakor, was affected by the same delay.
Ejimakor’s health condition is said to be deteriorating as he remains under medical observation at the Kuje facility.
