Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed his elder brother, Adamu Mohammed, as the Emir of the newly established Duguri Emirate.
The appointment letter was formally presented to the new monarch by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aminu Hammayo, who represented the governor during a ceremony held on Friday at the Duguri Emir’s palace in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

In his response, the new emir expressed appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for the honour bestowed upon him and prayed for divine blessings upon the governor.
The monarch assured that he would remain loyal to both the Bauchi State Government and the Bauchi Emirate Council.
At the same event, Hammayo also handed an appointment letter to Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan, who was named the Emir of Bununu Emirate.
He advised the traditional ruler to promote peace, abide by the law, and ensure inclusivity among all ethnic groups within his domain.
In his remarks, the new Emir of Bununu thanked Governor Mohammed for the recognition and pledged not to let down the government or the people.
