 2 killed as gunmen attack Plateau community

 Tragedy struck in Daron village, Gyel District of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, on Tuesday night as gunmen suspected to be armed Fulani herdsmen launched a deadly attack, leaving two people dead and one injured.

According to reports, the assailants invaded the community around 8 p.m., shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.

Confirming the incident to newsmen in Jos on Wednesday, the President of the Berom Youths Moulders Association (BYM), Solomon Dalyop, condemned the attack and described it as another senseless act of violence targeting innocent villagers.

Dalyop said, “In another turn of events at about 8 pm on 21st October, 2025, bandits suspected to be armed Fulanis attacked and shot dead two people, among whom is Mr Pam Choji.”

According to him, one person was also injured at Daron village of Gyel District in Jos South LGA.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command also confirmed the incident.

The spokesman of the Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, stated that, “Yes, we are aware of the incident and investigation is ongoing.”
