BREAKING: ASUU suspends 2-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its two-week warning strike that was announced last week across all public universities in Nigeria.
The announcement was made on Wednesday during a press conference at ASUU’s Abuja headquarters.
Speaking to journalists, ASUU President Chris Piwuna explained that the decision followed the intervention of the Senate and other well-meaning Nigerians. He emphasized that the union remains committed to resolving issues affecting the university system through dialogue and constructive engagement.
Piwuna also noted that the National Executive Council of ASUU has given the government a one-month window to address all outstanding matters, signaling a temporary reprieve for students and staff while negotiations continue.
