Atiku rewards Phrank Shaibu’s loyalty, promotes him to higher position

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has promoted his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, to the rank of Senior Special Assistant (SSA).
A statement issued by Atiku’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, said the promotion was a mark of recognition for Shaibu’s steadfast loyalty, hard work, and exceptional service to the Waziri Adamawa. It also acknowledged his strategic input in shaping the public communication framework of the Atiku Media Office over the years.
Mr. Shaibu was first appointed in 2018 as Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication — a role in which he distinguished himself through effective media engagement, strategic messaging, and crisis communication management.
A teacher-turned-journalist, Shaibu is a veteran communication strategist, political analyst, and crisis-management specialist with close to three decades of experience spanning journalism, public relations, political communication, and education.

Before joining Atiku’s team, he held various communication positions in both the public and private sectors. He previously served as Special Adviser on Public Communication and Chief Communication Manager under two former Governors of Kogi State, and as Media Consultant to former Governors of Delta and Rivers States. He also occupied editorial roles in several respected Nigerian newspapers.
Shaibu is renowned for his articulate advocacy, persuasive messaging, and skillful narrative framing in political communication. He has been an outspoken proponent of media responsibility, youth development, and national cohesion through effective communication.
Outside politics, he is also an education advocate, entrepreneur, and school administrator with a deep commitment to nurturing young minds and promoting quality learning.
Atiku’s decision to elevate Shaibu, the statement added, reflects his continued emphasis on professionalism, loyalty, and excellence in public communication.
