Northern youths under the aegis of Youth Alliance for Northern Development, are rolling out drums to celebrate the president’s son, Oluwaseyi Tinubu, in a “special way” as he turned 40 a few days ago.

The Convener, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola, disclosed that the schedule of activities for the celebration includes prayers, construction of giant billboards of the president’s son in various locations of the ancient city of Kano, distribution of books and writing materials to students.

There will also be a lot to eat and drink, as well as music and dance which will culminate at a dinner,Olorunsola said.

He said the event, which will hold colourfully at the Hilton Palace Banquet Hall on Friday, will be graced by the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abdullahi Yusuf Atah.

“The grand finale of the celebration will be a dinner, during which the minister will inaugurate the distribution of educational materials in honour of the president’s son,” the Convener said.

The group described Seyi Tinubu as “a youth icon,” adding that 40 is the pivotal age worth celebrating big.

The group also praised the president’s son, popularly called ST or King of Boys, for his simplicity.

Speaking more on why the northern youths are celebrating Seyi Tinubu, Olorunsola said it was not because he is the son of the president but for his many works of philanthropy which, he said, many youths across the country are benefitting.

“Mr. Seyi Tinubu is our ambassador; he has represented the youth, and of course, the country very well –both at home and abroad.

“He has inspired many of us. He does not sit back in the luxury of his father’s affluence and power to enjoy life -because his father is the president.

“But despite all the incredible privileges you see him always working on his own blueprint, associating freely and helping others.

“His genuine concern for the youth, through his empowerment programmes, is what endears him to us most,” he said.

Olorunsola said, taking the stock of Mr. Seyi Tinubu’s life at 40, there is no doubt that the president’s son has done impressively well and deserves to be celebrated.
