APC to officially welcome Gen. Sura, Gyang, others from PDP – Nentawe

With preparations heating up ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to formally receive a wave of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties across the state.

To coordinate the high-profile event, the party has constituted a high-powered committee chaired by Arc Pam Dung Gyang, tasked with organizing the reception for the returnees.

Speaking during a stakeholder meeting in Jos, the APC National Chairman, Professor Yilwatda Nentawe, announced that Vice President Kashim Shettima will personally lead the ceremony to welcome the new members into the ruling party.

Among the defectors is the former Senator representing Plateau North, Barr Istifanus Gyang; former Political Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Hon. Latep Dabang, and the former Secretary of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Committee of IDPs, Brig- Gen John Sura (rtd) along with their supporters and many others in the state.

Meanwhile, prominent members of the two leading political parties, the PDP and APC, continue to resign their membership of the parties, citing disillusionment and loss of confidence in the party structures.
