FG, states, LGs share N2.1trn allocation from federation account

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of N2.103 trillion among the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils as revenue for September 2025.
The allocation was finalized during the October 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
According to a communiqué issued after the session, the N2.103 trillion distributable revenue consisted of N1.239 trillion from statutory sources, N812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
FAAC reported that the total gross revenue for the month stood at N3.054 trillion, from which N116.149 billion was deducted as collection costs, while N835.005 billion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
The communiqué further disclosed that gross statutory revenue for September was N2.128 trillion, a drop of N710.134 billion compared to N2.838 trillion in August. Conversely, VAT revenue rose to N872.630 billion in September, up from N722.619 billion in August—an increase of N150.011 billion.
From the total distributable amount, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, while the States collected N727.170 billion. Local Government Councils got N529.954 billion, and N134.956 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared among oil-producing states as derivation funds.
Breaking down the N1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, States got N295.032 billion, Local Governments took N227.457 billion, and N134.956 billion went to derivation beneficiaries.
For the N812.593 billion VAT revenue, the Federal Government received N121.889 billion, States got N406.297 billion, and Local Governments received N284.408 billion.
From the N51.684 billion EMTL, N7.753 billion was allocated to the Federal Government, N25.842 billion to States, and N18.089 billion to Local Governments.
The communiqué also noted significant increases in Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL collections during September, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Common External Tariff (CET) levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) recorded a slight rise, whereas Oil and Gas Royalties and Excise Duty fell marginally.
