JUST IN: Uba Sani present as 3 Kaduna PDP Reps’ members defect to APC during plenary

The political landscape in Kaduna State has shifted as three members of the House of Representatives have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors include Aliyu Abdullahi, representing Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency; Abdulkareem Ahmed, representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency; and Sadiq Abdullahi, who represents Sabon Gari Federal Constituency.
Their defection was formally announced on Tuesday, marking yet another setback for the PDP in the state.

Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker, read their defection notices during Tuesday’s plenary.
Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, was on the floor of the house to witness the defection.
The lawmakers cited crisis in the opposition party as reasons for switching camps.
However, Kingsley Chinda, minority leader of the house, objected to the defection, arguing that there is no division within the party.
“You could have some crisis, but that does not amount to division in the party,” he said.
Kalu acknowledged his point of order but declined to rule in his favour.
The PDP has recently suffered a wave of defections, with several prominent members joining the APC and ADC.
The latest to leave are Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu, and members of his cabinet.
