Labour Party crisis deepens as Abure, Farouk attend INEC meeting as party leaders

The internal crisis within the Labour Party (LP) has taken a new turn as the party’s former National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure, and factional National Secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim, were spotted at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) quarterly consultative meeting with political parties.
A photo showing both Abure and Farouk attending the meeting as representatives of the Labour Party circulated online on Tuesday. The image was shared by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in Abuja.
The meeting is a regular interface between the election management body and recognised chairmen and secretaries of political parties.
It was not immediately clear if the Senators Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwochocha-led Interim National Committee of the party are also in attendance.
