Gunmen abduct PRNigeria Journalist Salis Manaja

A multimedia journalist with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Salis Manaja, has been abducted by gunmen while travelling to Ilorin, Kwara State, for the organisation’s annual Young Communication Fellowship programme.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday as Manaja was en route from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, to Ilorin for the event.
A source close to the victim told SaharaReporters on Monday that the kidnappers have since contacted the journalist’s family to demand a ransom, though the exact amount has not been disclosed.
Manaja was declared missing after other IMPR staff members, led by Dahiru Lawal, arrived in Ilorin ahead of the fellowship. Several attempts by his colleagues to reach him were unsuccessful as his phone line became unreachable.
Details about the exact location where the abduction took place remain sketchy.
The PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship is an annual capacity-building programme held in Kano, Abuja, and Ilorin to train young journalists and communicators.
