Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared today a public holiday for teachers across the state in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, who said the gesture reflects the governor’s deep appreciation for the vital role teachers play in shaping society and driving national progress.
Dr. Olohungbebe praised teachers for their resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to nurturing future generations, describing them as “critical stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development.”
“Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice, and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures, and drive society’s growth. Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists,” he declared.
