How Tinubu’s major critic privately begged me to construct road in his community – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has disclosed that one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s most vocal critics privately appealed for road construction projects in his area, despite his public stance against the administration.
Wike made the revelation on Monday during the flag-off ceremony of the Mohammed Isa Road Extension project in Asokoro District, Abuja. According to the minister, the unnamed critic confessed that not all the criticisms directed at the Tinubu government should be taken seriously.
Addressing the gathering, Wike said, “My dear brothers and sisters, today marks the 10th day of our flag-off of various projects in the city, including roads, water projects, and street lighting in Abuja.
“Today we are in Asokoro. I recall very well that one of the major critics of President Bola Tinubu’s government – I will not mention his name – came to me and said, ‘Look, you have been providing infrastructure in all the other cities.
“What about us in the Asokoro Extension, or along Mohammed Isa Road?’ I reminded him that the President, through us, has indeed been providing infrastructure in other cities.”
Wike added that the critic acknowledged this and admitted, “I should forget; not everything they say should be taken seriously.”
