2 female reporters missing after posting video of clash at APC chairman mother s funeral

Two female journalists with Jay FM in Jos, Plateau State, have reportedly been detained by security operatives following the circulation of a video showing a confrontation between a cleric and some security personnel during the funeral of the mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

Jay FM, in a statement posted on its Facebook page on Saturday, said the reporters — Ruth Marcus and Keshia Jang — have been missing since the incident, as the station has been unable to determine which security agency is holding them or their current location.

According to the station, the journalists had gone to the COCIN Headquarters in Jos to cover the funeral when they recorded the altercation and uploaded the clip to the station’s social media platforms. The footage reportedly went viral shortly after it was posted.

The post added that soon after the video’s release, security personnel moved in and took the journalists away to an undisclosed location.

“The management is trying to verify which of the security agencies are holding them and their location,” the post read.

Jay FM maintained that it stands by its decision to publish the video.
