Tinubu’s wife bags major northern traditional title

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been honoured with the traditional title of Sarauniyar Yaki (Queen Warrior) of Akko Emirate in Gombe State.
The title was conferred on Thursday by the Lamido Akko, Umar Muhammad Atiku, during her two-day official visit to the state. According to the monarch, the recognition was given in appreciation of her dedication to safeguarding the interests of vulnerable groups across the nation.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Tinubu expressed her gratitude to the traditional ruler and pledged to continue her efforts, particularly in promoting the welfare of the girl child. She also appealed to traditional leaders in the state to lend their support to her advocacy.
The occasion drew several dignitaries, including Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Usman Bello Kumo.
As part of her engagements in Gombe, the First Lady is also expected to flag off the Renewed Hope Initiative Flow With Confidence project, a nationwide menstrual health program designed to support schoolgirls.
