Notorious bandit kingpin Maidawa killed along Kwara Kogi border

A suspected bandit kingpin, identified as Maidawa,  has been eliminated following a fierce engagement with security forces in Isanlu, Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to security analyst Zagozola Makama, intelligence from the State Security Service indicated that Maidawa and some of his gang members were neutralised in sting operations along the Kwara–Kogi boundary over the weekend.

News of Maidawa’s death was relayed to other bandits by another wanted kidnapper, Baccujo, while he was on Igboro-Idofin Road and in communication with associates at Marabar Maigora, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Authorities disclosed that the crackdown followed new directives from the state government aimed at curbing a recent surge in kidnappings targeting residents across the region.

Security agencies have pledged to sustain phased operations across Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Edu, and Patigi LGAs to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further abductions.
