BREAKING Dangote Refinery reinstates petrol sales in Naira
Platinum Post

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reinstated the sale of premium motor spirit (PMS) in Naira, less than a day after announcing a halt.

The change came following the intervention of Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and head of the Naira for Crude Transaction Committee.

The federal government, through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), had set up the naira-for-crude scheme to ensure local refineries receive crude oil supplies. However, the initiative has struggled with insufficient crude availability.

On Friday, the refinery notified its customers that sales in Naira would end on Sunday, September 28, 2025, explaining it had been selling beyond its allocated crude supply under the programme and could no longer sustain the process.

But within 24 hours, a follow-up notice reversed the decision.

“Following the intervention of the Naira for Crude Transaction Committee Chairman, we are pleased to inform you of the resumption of PMS Sales in Naira commencing immediately.
“You may kindly proceed to place your orders in Naira for both self-collection and free delivery of PMS to the earlier advised locations across the country. Thank you for your continued patronage,” the refinery said.
