AEDC gives reason for power outage in parts of Abuja

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has explained the cause of Saturday’s power outage that affected several parts of Abuja.
In a notice shared on its official handle, the company said electricity supply to areas such as Karu, Nyanya, Maraba, Ado, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, New Nyanya and surrounding communities was disrupted due to ongoing maintenance work.
“Dear Valued Customers in Karu, Nyanya, Maraba, Ado, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, New Nyanya and environs.
“Please be informed that the technical team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is carrying out a maintenance exercise at the Karu Transmission Substation, today, 27th September 2025 from 10 am to 3 pm.
“This maintenance exercise is part of our continued efforts to enhance service reliability and improve power supply to your community.”We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this necessary activity,” AEDC stated.
