Wike s aide fights back says Sowore owns mansion worth N885m in US

Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has leveled allegations against activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, claiming he owns a mansion in the United States worth $552,000 (about N885 million).

Olayinka made the allegation on Friday through a post on his verified X account.

He further asserted that Sowore runs the African Action Congress (AAC) as a one-man enterprise, despite having contested the 2023 presidential election under the party.

“Sowore is the Chairman of AAC political party. He is Presidential Candidate of AAC. He is Financial Secretary of AAC. In fact, he is Sole Proprietor of ACC.

“He owns mansion worth $552,000.00 (about N885m) in the US. Na CASHTIVIST Sowore be that. Reason his party members suspended him for CORRUPTION,” Olayinka wrote.

His remarks come amid a series of corruption allegations Sowore has recently made against Wike.

The activist had earlier petitioned the Attorney General of Florida to look into three properties reportedly linked to the FCT Minister, alleging that they were purchased with public funds.
