2027 Ganduje Barau others mobilize full support for Tinubu move to displace NNPP in Kano

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi  Ganduje, and Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, on Thursday led key party figures from Kano in declaring full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The Kano APC leaders also vowed to reclaim the governorship seat from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), insisting the current state administration would be voted out in the next general elections.

The high-level meeting, held behind closed doors in Abuja, drew several influential figures including Minister of State for Housing Abdullahi Ata, Senator Kawu Sumaila, House Appropriation Committee Chairman Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, former Governor Senator Kabiru Gaya, Sulaiman Bichi, Hon. Mohammed Garba, as well as a host of serving and former legislators and commissioners.

Briefing journalists afterwards, Ganduje emphasized that the Kano APC remains united and is steadily growing stronger ahead of 2027.

“We are here and we examine the progress, the successes that we have achieved in our great party in Kano State. We are also here in order to assure Mr. President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that our party in  Kano State, we are solidly behind him.

“We appreciate his policy reforms. We appreciate the good work that he is doing for the country. We appreciate the good work he is doing for Kano State. And we appreciate all the appointments that he has made for the people of Kano State.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you all know what happened during the last election. We were about to win the election, but unfortunately we could not win the election. But since after that, our party has remained intact. Our party has remained solid. And because of the good policies of Mr. President, and also because of our political dexterity in the state, we are able to attract many important politicians from other political parties that have come into our own party.

“In particular, we have Senator Kawu has joined our party. We have members of the House of Representatives. We have the former speaker of Kano State, Honourable Kabiru Ruru has joined our party. We have Honourable Abdullahi Sani Rogo who has joined our party. We have many members of the State Assembly who have joined our party. We have former secretary to the present government in Kano State who have left the party, NNPP, and have joined our party. We have some commissioners who left the present government and now they have joined our party.

“We have the whole secretary to the Kano State government who left his party and joined our party. In fact, if I continue to mention those who have joined our party, you will know that APC has grown from strength to strength. Distinguished Honourable Member Abdulmumin Kofa is also joining our party.”

He further noted that mobilization for the ongoing voter registration exercise would be key to APC’s victory: “We are here and we have resolved that we will continue to work very hard to ensure that we succeed in the next gubernatorial election in Kano State.”

Deputy Senate President Jibrin described the meeting as strategic, stressing the need to project Tinubu’s achievements to the wider North.

“We are solely behind him as said by the former National Chairman. We are behind him, we are solidly behind him because he loves us… We have urged our people, our party faithful… that they should go back home and continue to support Mr. President, to continue to support APC and to continue to pray for our nation.”

Similarly, Hon. Abubakar Bichi praised Tinubu’s record in the state, especially in infrastructure.

“So for someone to say Mr. President is not interested in the North or in Kano State is all politics. And Kano State in 2027 will come all out and vote the President and APC Governor Insha Allah,” Bichi declared.
