Divisional Crime Officer shot dead in Suleja

A senior police officer was gunned down at his residence in Suleja, Niger State, during an early morning attack on Saturday.

The victim, identified as SP Ayuba Micah, was the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of ‘A’ Division in the area.

Security analyst Zagozola Makama confirmed that the attackers shot the officer and made away with his mobile phone and that of his wife.

His wife, Mrs. Asabe Micah, recounted that the armed men stormed their home in the Behind Sandoco area of Suleja around 3:00 a.m. “Three armed men invaded our residence,” she said.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that Micah was quickly taken to the General Hospital in Suleja, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The officer’s remains have been deposited in the hospital mortuary, while the family is expected to announce funeral details in due course.
