Kano : Popular district head dies in road crash

The District Head of Kabo in Kano State,  Idris Dankabo, widely known as Sarkin Gabas, has lost his life in a car accident.

The tragic incident happened on Thursday, throwing Kabo and surrounding communities into mourning.

According to a statement issued by the palace, tributes have been pouring in from traditional leaders, clerics, and residents in honour of the late monarch.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. A death has occurred to Sarkin Gabas, Idris Adamu Dankabo, who died as a result of a car accident yesterday (Thursday),” the statement read.

The palace also announced that the funeral prayer is scheduled for today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the Kofar Kudu.

“May Allah forgive him and have mercy on his soul. Amin,” it added.

Until his passing, Sarkin Gabas was celebrated as one of the most respected leaders in the Kabo district, noted for his role in fostering peace, unity, and community development.
