BREAKING: Massive explosion rocks Nigerian military factory in Kaduna

A massive explosion ripped through the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) facility in Kaduna’s Kakuri Industrial Layout on Saturday, leaving one person dead and several others injured.

The blast, whose cause remains unclear, was powerful enough to be heard across parts of the city, particularly in Chikun and Kaduna South local government areas.

Sources confirmed that one individual lost their life in the incident, while multiple others sustained injuries. Those hurt were quickly taken to nearby hospitals, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.

Although details are still trickling in, eyewitnesses at the scene described the explosion as severe.

Authorities have yet to identify what triggered the blast, and investigations are underway to assess both the cause and the scale of the damage.
