Rivers Fubara makes special pledge says what happened in Port Harcourt humbled him

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged unwavering commitment to prioritising the interests of the state and its citizens.

Fubara gave the assurance on Friday shortly after returning to the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital. His arrival came hours after receiving a rousing welcome at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Addressing supporters, the governor expressed gratitude for the massive turnout at the airport, noting that it was a reflection of the people’s love and confidence in his administration.

“I know everyone wants to hear something from me. In fact, you expected it when I landed at the Airport,” he said, while appreciating the warm reception he received.

He described the gathering as both humbling and a clear demonstration of solidarity.“Let me first of all appreciate the wonderful people of Rivers State. I’m really humbled by what I saw at the Airport. I was briefed on some photographs of what happened here yesterday. That reception really humbled me,” Fubara stated.

According to the governor, the occasion went beyond celebration, as it reaffirmed the bond between the government and the people.“It showed love, confidence and solidarity. I want to say that it is not just the celebration, the massive reception by the number of people who came out to celebrate, but the display and reaffirmation of the bond between this government and the people that we are serving,” he added.

Fubara further pledged to continue working in ways that would sustain the people’s support.“I want to assure you that we will by the grace of God, continue to do those things that has made you people love us. I want to appreciate everyone and to say that we love you but God love you more,” he said.
