Political war with our leader, Wike, totally over – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced that he has mended fences with his predecessor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, calling it a milestone for stability and peace in the state.
In a statewide broadcast on Friday, Fubara revealed that the reconciliation was achieved during the six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu earlier this year.
“In the course of the six-month period, Mr. President graciously brokered the peace process with all the parties successfully. Our Leader, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and I, as your Governor, have all accepted to bury the hatchet and embrace peace and reconciliation in the best interest of our dear Rivers State,” he said.
The emergency rule, which began in March 2025, saw Fubara, his deputy, and the state legislature suspended amid a deepening political crisis. Governance was restored in mid-September following a truce that brought an end to months of hostility between factions loyal to Fubara and those aligned with Wike.
The governor’s statement marks a turning point in Rivers politics, where clashes between rival camps had threatened the state’s stability. His emphasis on reconciliation signals a renewed commitment to cooperation after months of division.
