Missing herder found dead in Abuja community

Tragedy struck in Riwaza, near Fobgbe community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after the body of a herder who went missing on Sunday was discovered.

According to local sources, the lifeless body was found around 6:22 p.m. on Monday by a farmer returning from his field.

Community members recounted that the deceased had left his settlement with his cows on Sunday morning for grazing but never made it back home.

His absence raised concern among residents after the Fulani community leader in Fobgbe, Ardo Shehu Usman, announced that a herder had been missing.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, Ardo Usman said the matter was not immediately reported to security agencies because of the poor condition of the road linking the village to Kwali town.

We kept searching for him but It was not until Monday evening that a farmer saw the corpse and informed the community,” he explained.

The cause of death of the hearderis yet to be determined as at the time of filing this report.
