Nigerians suffering more under Tinubu, says Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep concern over the worsening hunger and poverty faced by millions of Nigerians.
In a statement released on Monday by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of failing to provide effective solutions to the economic hardship confronting the country.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) noted that the situation has become unbearable for ordinary Nigerians, warning that widespread poverty and hunger have historically fueled revolutions in parts of the world, including the Arab Spring, France, and Russia.
The chieftain of the opposition coalition said there is “no manifest signs that this government is capable of addressing the grim issue of severe hunger staring the poor in the face” after two years in power.
Counselling that the current unacceptable situation offers an opportunity for reflection, Atiku cited the “French Revolution, the 1917 Russian Revolution and the Arab Spring in which a young man caught in the maelstrom of unbearable frustration set himself ablaze in a development which occasioned violent socio-political eruptions starting out from Tunisia to engulf the Middle-East and North Africa.”
