4 feared dead as canoe capsizes in Plateau

Tragedy struck in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State after a canoe accident claimed the lives of four people on the Fajul River.
The incident occurred on September 10 at around 4 p.m., when a canoe paddled by 35-year-old Nankpak Danladi was ferrying four passengers on their way to Wase.
According to local sources, the canoe suddenly capsized mid-river, throwing all occupants into the water. Rescue efforts were launched, but four passengers were feared dead in the mishap.
“The canoe capsized, and all four passengers, whose identities are yet to be known, drowned in the river,” a source tols security analyst Zagazola Makama.
“On receipt of the report, security forces from Langtang South, mobilised local divers to the scene for a thorough search. No corpse has been recovered yet, but the search is still ongoing.”
