What I discussed with Macron in Paris Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday held a private working lunch with French President, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris, as part of his ongoing visit to France.

Tinubu, who is currently on a 10-day private visit to Europe, was welcomed with a presidential guard of honour before entering into discussions with Macron.

The meeting, though described as private, signals continuing diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and France on political and economic cooperation.

Tinubu, in a post on his verified X handle after the meeting revealed his discussion with the French President.

He said, “Had a productive lunch with President Emmanuel Macron @EmmanuelMacron today at the Élysée Palace.

“We reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen our partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability.”

Confirming the development, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who also shared photographs of both leaders.  wrote:“President Bola Tinubu, with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, during a working private lunch at the Élysée Palace, Paris. Wednesday, September 10, 2025.”
