Decomposed body of man found in National Assembly complex

Police in Abuja have confirmed the discovery of the decomposed remains of a 55-year-old man inside a vehicle parked at the National Assembly complex.

The deceased, identified as Gaddafi Iwar, a Tiv man believed to have been working as a labourer at a construction site within the premises, was found lifeless in a red Peugeot 406 around 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, according to security analyst Zagozola Makama.

His body was first taken to the National Assembly Clinic for confirmation and later transferred to Asokoro General Hospital, but the hospital declined to accept it due to the advanced stage of decomposition.

It was gathered that members of the Tiv community, along with youth leaders, eventually moved the remains to Gbawu Village, a border settlement between AMAC and Kuje Area Council, where he was buried to avoid any public health risk.
