Another tragedy hits NSCDC as officer kills colleague in Abuja

Barely two days after eight operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were slain in Okpella, Edo State, the agency has been struck by another tragedy, as a Deputy Superintendent accidentally shot and killed a fellow officer in Life Camp, Abuja.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, citing sources, reported that at about 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, DSC Adekunle Emmanuel was hit by a bullet on the left upper arm above the bicep.
The bullet was fired by a colleague while they were heading to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate from an hotel.
The victim was immediately taken to Maitama General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead.
His remains have since been placed in the hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the officer responsible for the shooting is in custody and being interrogated, according to sources.
