Senator Adams Oshiomhole (APC–Edo North) has rolled out six constituency projects earmarked for execution in four out of the six local government areas in the district.

PlatinumPost reports that Edo North consists of six local government areas which include Akoko Edo, Etsako Central, Etsako East, Etsako West, Owan East and Owan West.

The designated projects include the construction of the 2.5-kilometre Fugar–Ukhor Road in Etsako Central Local Government Area. Others are six classroom blocks each at Apana Mixed Secondary School in Etsako West and Osime Primary School in Agenebode, Etsako East.

Additional projects unveiled are a 250-seat automated CBT centre at Iyamho Secondary School, Iyamho; a fully furnished six-block classroom at Akpekpe Secondary School, Auchi; and a new block of classrooms at Ijemounu Primary School in Ihievbe Ogbe, Owan East.

At the official handover of the projects to contractors on Sunday, Oshiomhole said the initiative marked the first batch of his constituency interventions for 2025.

“This is the first batch of my constituency projects for 2025. The second batch will cut across all wards and six local governments.

“My focus is education, which is why I am building schools to enhance learning environments across the district,” Oshiomhole said.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Victor Oshioke, the senator explained that the projects were designed to improve the lives of people across Edo North. He also stressed the revival of the “red roof revolution” to guarantee a conducive learning atmosphere for pupils and students.

Contractors promised to deliver within three months, while project managers Augustine Erikhumhi of Jehovah Ltd. and Aaron Atta of De-golf Allied Ltd. called on communities to cooperate to ensure timely completion.

Community leaders, including Mr Yakubu Musa and Alh. Abubakar Akokhia, lauded Oshiomhole’s effort to revive the red roof initiative in schools, expressing confidence that he would fulfill his promises as he did during his tenure as governor.

Only Akoko Edo and Owan West Local Government Areas were left out in the first phase of the constituency projects.
